Carol Schuit, CFNP

 

Carol was born in Cleveland, Ohio; but spent most of her adult years in Southern California; she relocated to Virginia in 2009 where she continues her passion to serve families and their children.

Carol completed her Family Nurse Practitioners Program; a combined masters in nursing from San Diego State. She received her Post Graduate Family Nurse Practitioner Program from the University of California, San Diego. Carol is Board Certified with the California Coalition of Nurse Practitioners.

Carol worked a total of 11 years within the Kaiser Permanente system in Riverside California. During this time she served as a representative for Pediatrics in the Interdisciplinary Committee for Kaiser; promoting the advancement of Nurse Practitioners and Physicians Assistants. She was a preceptor for Prediatric Nurse Practitioner students; helping to advance their training and knowledge. Carol also taught the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Phoenix.

Carol served as Director of the Postpartum Follow-up Program for moms and newborns and as a Hospitalist working very closely with their Neonatologists in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit. She has also worked within Kaiser's Obesity and Chemical Dependency Clinics teaching children and their families to manage and live a healthy lifestyle.

Carol enjoys walking her dog, "Chico"; reading mystery novels, discovering new places to eat, and gardening.
