Erwin A. Bondareff, MD
Dr. Bondareff grew up in Alexandria. He attended Alexandria City Public Schools through the 7th grade and Coolidge High School in Washington, D.C. He graduated from The George Washington University School of Pharmacy in 1952, and was then drafted into the Army during the Korean War. He served at Ft. Knox Kentucky, Walter Reed Army Hospital and Ft.Belvoir in the 7th Field Hospital Pharmacy. He subsequently earned his M.D. from George Washington University School of Medicine in 1959, and completed his pediatric residency at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore City Hospitals, as Chief Resident. He received the James-Douglas-Goddard Award for outstanding student in Pharmacy and was elected to the Smith-Reed-Russel Honor Medical Society and the Kane-King Honor Obstetrical Society while in Medical school.
Dr. Bondareff joined Dr. Robert Bregman in 1963 in the Delray section of Alexandria and the practice grew into the Pediatric Associates of Alexandria of today. He is on the medical staff of Inova Alexandria and Fairfax Hospitals, and is a corresponding member of The Childrens Hospital National Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is licensed in Virginia and Maryland. He has been a member of the Alexandria City Drug Abuse Commission, Mental Health Commission, Early Childhood Commission and The Alexandria City School Board during the period of school integration. Dr. Bondareff enjoys hiking, sailing, sculling, and tennis.
