Marie Dierks, DO
Dr. Dierks was born in Wilmington, DE and spent the majority of her childhood in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the Pennsylvania State University in 1996. She then accepted a Naval Health Professions Scholarship and attended medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her internship and residency at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA and completed her active duty Navy career in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Portsmouth, VA. Upon leaving the Navy, she accepted a position at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters where she was also an assistant professor of clinical pediatrics for Eastern Virginia Medical School. As a military spouse, she next followed her husband to Corpus Christi, TX where she practiced at the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi. As her husband’s naval retirement approaches, her family has settled in the Northern Virginia area and she joined Pediatric Associates of Alexandria in 2011.
Dr. Dierks is currently a member of the pediatric staff at the Inova Alexandria and Fairfax Hospitals. She has been Board Certified in Pediatrics since 2003, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has two active children and enjoys all sports and outdoor activities.
