In office prenatal visits will temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Telemedicine visits for prenatal visits will be available 6am-8am Monday through Friday.
We encourage you to explore our website. Here is much of the information that is shared with prospective patients so you can get to know more about Pediatric Associates:
Our doctors have privileges at Inova Alexandria and Inova Fairfax hospitals. If you chose to use our practice, please notify the hospital when you are being admitted to deliver your baby. We will see all new babies within 24 hours of delivery and are in the hospitals each morning to see patients. Babies will have a full head to toe exam when they are seen. Babies will be seen each day they are in the hospital. You will have the opportunity to see the doctor each day when the baby is examined and discuss any questions or concerns you may have.
When you and your baby are discharged, you will be asked to make an appointment in our office 24-48 hours after discharge. You will be given a packet with registration information while in the hospital. Please bring this with to your first visit to the Potomac Yard office. You can view a video of Dr. Bryant reviewing our safety procedures at the office here: https://vimeo.com/studio608/review/403170090/b04869435e
For families delivering at other hospitals, your baby will be seen by the hospital doctors. The hospital doctors will give you discharge instructions on when to make your follow up appointment. The registration forms are on our website under the Forms tab.
At your first office visit your baby will be examined and your pregnancy and delivery information reviewed. These first newborn appointments may be scheduled with any of our providers. These appointments are always available. After that first newborn appointment, babies are seen on a schedule that coincides with monitoring growth and development as well as administering appropriate vaccines.
These visits are:
2 week 9 month
1 month 12 month
2 month 15 month
4 month 18 month
6 month 24 month
For these routine well check visits, we suggest picking one or two of our providers to perform them if you would like the continuity of seeing the same one or two providers each visit. Our schedule is made 3 months in advance and by the time the 2 month visit is being scheduled, we usually can accommodate the request to see a specific provider.
We also have two lactation consultants in our office who offer lactation visits.
We have an after hours pediatric nurse call service and one of our doctors is always on call after hours.
