Fluoride Varnish

We have started applying Fluoride Varnish at well checks for children from 9 mos to 3 years of age!  Fluoride helps to strengthen tooth enamel, slows down tooth decay and prevents cavities.  The varnish is a gel that is applied to all sides of your child's teeth using a soft brush. It will harden immediately when it touches saliva.  Your child may eat afterwards but should avoid crunchy and hot foods. You can skip brushing the teeth that night. 

We do recommend that all children should see a dentist starting at the age of 12 mo.
