Jamie Zakkak, MD, IBCLC

Dr. Zakkak is a native Virginian and grew up in Warrenton. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master's in Public Health. She received her Medical Degree from St. George's University and completed her pediatric residency at Inova Fairfax Children's Hospital.

Dr. Zakkak is a board certified pediatrician and an international board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC). She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP),  an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Georgetown University and currently serves as the Chair of Pediatrics at INOVA Alexandria Hospital. She has been recognized as a Virginia Top Doctor several times.

Prior to joining Pediatric Associates of Alexandria in 2020, Dr. Zakkak worked locally as a pediatric hospitalist. Her clinical interests include preventative medicine, care of the NICU graduate, and helping families achieve their infant feeding goals.

Dr. Zakkak lives in Arlington with her husband, a cardiologist, and their three young children. She enjoys spending time outdoors, cooking and reading.
